Waiting for Permission? I’ll be your Career Cheerleader

Are you waiting? Do you believe there is some sign that will allow you to take that leap to the career you are longing for? Do you believe that when a particular circumstance is achieved then you can move forward? If so, then you waiting for permission.
Too often when we were children our natural creativity and curiosity was squashed into a box. We learned that drawing outside the lines or making the sky green was not acceptable. It was too outside the standards. So as a survival mechanism we learned to squelch our natural curiosity and creativity and begin to conform.
It might happen in small, accumulated steps. Sometimes it is in one strong event that makes us enter that box and close the door. We are there for safety and survival. When we were younger this might have made us feel safer, but it also restricts us.
As we grow and mature, we rebel against the restrictiveness of these conformities. But sometimes, in ways we might not be aware of, we stay confined. Without realizing it, we are waiting for permission to step beyond the restrictions that were imposed on us when we were younger.

This can manifest in a sense of waiting for certain conditions to manifest before we move forward. We might say to ourselves: “When A happens, then I can do B.” I can change my career….  when the children are old enough, when I get that bonus, when I’ve been at this job for 5 or 10, years.
What we are really waiting for is permission. If we achieve enough, or earn enough, or provide enough, then maybe, just maybe, it will be OK to step out of the box. But much like trying to catch a beach ball in the pool, our elusive goal keeps moving further and further away from us. We are left feeling stuck and frustrated. Sometimes we don’t even realize that we have fallen into this dilemma.

Does this seem to describe your circumstances? Have you been waiting for permission? If so, I want to let you know that I give you permission right now. No other conditions have to be met. No other goals reached. I give you permission to step outside of the self-constructed box and into your new career. I won’t just give you permission but I will cheer you on.  That’s what a career coach does. I’m here to hold a vision of your dream career and your ability to have it, even if you are not able to. I will be your cheerleader as you navigate the journey from where you are (in the box) to where you want to be; in a career that lights you up.

What you will discover along the way is that you always had the power. You can give yourself permission to make those choices.  The journey of discovery comes from realizing your inherent power.  When you work with me as your career coach, I will be your cheerleader!  I assist you in discovering the limiting beliefs that are keeping you from experiencing your own personal power.  Then we work on replacing them with empowering and authentic beliefs.  These new beliefs support you on your journey to your dream career. Then I will cheer you on as you give yourself permission, whenever you desire it.

Are you ready to stop waiting for permission and have your own career cheerleader? Get ready to escape the box of restricting beliefs and move towards the career of your dreams. I offer a free, one-hour consultation call to see how career coaching can assist you in creating the career you have been longing for. Schedule your call by clicking here.
